Amazon warehouse workers in the United Kingdom have voted to go on strike on new year, in what will be a historic move for the company. In response, Amazon has touted its competitive pay and benefits, noting that the minimum hourly wage has increased by 29 percent since 2018.

In a landmark victory earlier this year, Amazon New York workers voted to form the first-ever union at one of the company’s US facilities. Despite this, Amazon has yet to formally recognize the union or come to the bargaining table.
