Is eBay Protecting Sellers Whose Packages Are Delayed by Winter Storms?

As a winter storm hits much of the United States, eBay has announced that it will offer protection to sellers whose packages are delayed due to the severe weather.

The online marketplace will automatically protect seller performance, including late shipment rates and valid tracking upload rates, as well as “item not received” cases due to late delivery, provided the seller has uploaded tracking information and has a physical scan from the carrier. eBay will also remove any negative or neutral feedback and said that these cases will not impact sellers’ service metrics ratings.

This move comes as FedEx and UPS have both announced that they are closely monitoring the severe weather and have implemented contingency plans to mitigate delays. However, FedEx has warned that the forecast for its hub cities of Indianapolis and Memphis could cause disruptions throughout its network.
